Update

Hi all,
A while ago I was going to run a Peninsula Chapter, but failed to get it going.

So check out the Brown Owls Members' Blog for meeting times near your area.

Sorry for failing.

Sausage-y

I love reading blogs the day after a Brown Owls meeting, everyone has nice piccys of their creations. And last night we had super fun stitching the world's longest sausage dog (or is Moca longer?) They're actually CD covers with a touch of clever origami thrown in, but I'm still thinking of what else to use mine for. Kirsty's creativity and commitment to coming up with fun stuff is overwhelmingly good! Go her!

I got a special Hollie cupcake, and Brooke brought Girl Guides biccies (but I scoffed mine without taking a pic) ...

All the sausage dog excitement was a bit much for poor Brooke, so she had a bit of a kip. I wish I looked this cute when I was asleep!

My finished CD cover...tradional saus colours, although last night there were green, orange and blue sausage dogs too!

Another owlie

I quite like this little blog of mine. I just put in any old fun thing that appeals to me, and it's cruisy. So in that spirit, here's my latest owlie, Mr Brown Owl. He came from Big-W and is supposed to be a garden ornament, but I didn't want to put him out in the garden, so he's currently hanging with the LPs. Sitting next to the Whooooo, no less! (And I swear I didn't do that on purpose.) Hee.

Pencil box building

...was last night's Brown Owl activity. I was having another night of brain fade (Mondays are not good for me) and after much badgering of Kirsty, managed to assemble my pencil box, featuring Alan Robison vintage fabric (yep, Kirsty I better go and Google him now!) I am not good with cutting tidily and gluing fiddly corners but I managed to end up with a rather spiffy pencil box. I ate yummy cake, chatted with owlet chicks, including team Minh, and the barrel girls picked my name for a door prize. Yay!

Here's my pencil box, I might have to tweak it a bit more I think, my little purse that I won, and a gorgeous glass that I bought at the Kew oppy yesterday arvo.

On the desk

Which I should do tomorrow, but I'm bored, so now it is. The desk still has a bit of last week's Brown Owls that was still laying on my desk - my finished Stitching Roll (check out Kirsty's blog if you want to make one of your own), Kitty owl, a little owlie box from Northcote Plaza $2 shop, and my cds for 62 Cherry's Spring CD swap.

Kootoyoo, home of the desktop fun!

My 'shroom and lara owl

my shroom and lara owl, originally uploaded by drewzel.

I just realised that I forgot to show you the mushroom pincushion that I made at the last Brown Owls...it ended up being superfun and easy, although I was having a night of brain fade and couldn't work anything out - sorry Kirsty! I also got to catch up with two of my fave girls, Cam and Hollie, and met the very sweet Cindy, who was Brown Owling for the first time. I'm hoping this cold I've got will go away before Monday's meeting...we're stitching!

Scout's honor

scout's honor, originally uploaded by made by moxie.

At last Brown Owls I was saying to Kirsty that we needed a tea drinking badge...and then today the Craftzine blog alerted me to this wonderous pile o' scouting badges. Great minds, yadda yadda... Apart from the coffee, my fave is the Pong one. Yay!

Original blog entry for these here.

Bonus owlies!

As well as my typewriter on my lunchtime shopping trip, I got a little haul of old craft mags, mostly 70's/80's. In this one:

I found this:

I'm sure all the Brownies will recognise these owlies!
